product designer
We're looking for a designer who can build things. We're not quite at the stage for separate visual and UX designers and a dedicated frontend developer; we need someone who can build features end to end. If owning and executing on your vision like this sounds more like a feature than a bug, we want to talk to you.
What to expect:
- You'll work closely with the entire team: Aaron (for product design), Ryan and Paul (when building stuff), and Josh (a bit of everything).
- Meaningful work, both in terms of responsibility and impact on the world.
- Either part-time contract or full-time work. We're flexible; we care most about finding someone talented who loves and fits with the team.
Please:
- Be able to build what you design in HTML and CSS.
- Have strong opinions and care about great design.
- Love working with a small team to take new features from idea to deployment (and around again as we learn from our users).
We'll give you:
- Cash ($60-80k)
- Equity (0.5-3%)

Salary and equity are ranges because they're based on your skills and how much of each you want (more salary means less equity and vice versa). We prefer people who prefer equity.

You love to program. Our stack is PHP and MySQL on AWS and we use Git, but we don't screen based on a checklist of acronyms. Like most sites since 1997, we use JavaScript. The word "closure" shouldn't scare you and you shouldn't think jQuery is a language.
What to expect:
- You'll work five days a week with Ryan and Paul.
- We use Macs, though we'll buy you whatever laptop you want.
- We have traction and growth, but we're still a young startup defining our product. You won't just be implementing specs.
Please:
- Be smart and intellectually curious.
- Care about what you're making.
- Be able to work in a small team to build things quickly.
